Wally West Music Resource is pleased to offer our professional mobile disc jockey services that features our state of the art sound systems and audio equipment. We believe that the star of the event is YOU, so we not only welcome, but insist upon your input so we can happily accommodate your requests, specifications and needs -- including a consultation with you to build a personalized song list that reflects your personal style.
We offer a choice of different sized DJ set ups to accommodate small crowds of 50 or less, to large crowds of 200+. We use only top-notch professional equipment by such manufacturers as QSC, Mackie, Yamaha, Apple, and other industry-leading makers. All song lists are up to date and the music genres and formats are catered to your personal taste. And if you like, we offer interactivity and a bevy of special dances and games, or we can just play good dance and party music to make your event or reception the talk of the town.
Each party is special and distinctive. We maintain unequivocal respect for your musical tastes. Our set up is simple, compact, and requires little room. We believe in simplicity and sophistication in our set up, so generally we do not use lighting unless specifically requested. We focus the attention of your event on the event itself by being a member of the event team, not the star. We provide emcee services (included with DJ service) to make announcements, introductions and the like, and we also know how to stay out of the way of the music, allowing you and your guests to enjoy the event and the music without any superfluous commentary. We believe in discreet and tasteful use of the microphone (always readily available for you should there be a need for you or your guests to make announcements, speeches and toasts, etc.). A fun party can still be elegant and tasteful!

Meet Chris Rachal, DJ Team Member
Chris Rachal and has been providing DJ services to the Piedmont/Triad of North Carolina for 27 years. Chris began his career as a disc jockey in 1980 working for a college radio station in Georgia. This career as a radio DJ continued for the next 18 years.
In the Triad radio market Chris was known as Lee Michaels on WMQX FM, Oldies 93 (now known as The Wolf) and was host of the All Request Oldies Show from 7:00 pm to 12 midnight from 1989 to 1998. While working for Oldies 93 in 1989, Chris began DJing private parties and for the last 27 years he has DJed hundreds of events, from wedding receptions, school dances, summer parties; holiday parties and house parties; birthday parties, company parties and picnics; fundraisers and many other types of events.
Chris has been a collector of music since the age of 10 and has amassed a library of over 3500 cds and more that 50,000 songs. With this massive music collection, Chris has music for any occasion.
POPULAR! Wedding Reception Option:
Wally's jazz trio or quartet performs for the first two hours of the reception (or cocktail hour and dinner hour), followed by his DJ service for the remaining time. This option satisfies ones taste for live, elegant music for the cocktail hour, dinner hour, or at the beginning of the reception and yet also quenches the thirst for party and dance music as the reception goes on. The best thing about this package is the affordability - we offer a jazz trio or quartet followed by DJ service for less than many DJs charge, and also less than a full band would charge to perform for the entire reception.
For instance, if you are planning your reception time to be up to five hours, it has been our experience that this works well:
- The jazz group performs while guests arrive, mingle and wait for the wedding party to arrive. This sets a nice mood and allows people to visit, talk and mingle. Typically, two hours is a good bet.
- Once the jazz group has completed the two hours of live performance, the jazz musicians are dismissed and leave discreetly while the DJ service takes over for the remainder of the reception time.
If the bride and groom’s first dance occurs early during the reception, or during cocktail hour and dinner hour, and the request is a recorded song, no problem, as the sound system is already set up and in place; or if it is a song that would be apropos for the jazz group to perform, that can be done as well.
Additionally, any introductions, toasts and announcements are easily handled, as Wally provides a wireless microphone and also acts as emcee for the reception. Wally provides seamless music throughout the reception - no break in music being performed, whether live or recorded.

Planning Music for Wedding Ceremonies and Receptions
Here's the way I am accustomed to working with you in planning music for your wedding ceremony and/or reception:
If desired, we can meet to see if we are a "good fit" for one another.
If you want to move forward to secure my services, I will issue you a contract that covers all the particulars that we've discussed.
You receive this contract via email (or US Postal Mail if you prefer) - look it over, and if everything is agreeable, sign it and return it to me with a deposit - the signed contract and deposit guarantees the date and times.
Once I receive your contract and deposit, I provide you with my ceremony/reception questionnaire(s) that I have created that allow you and your fiancée to begin thinking about the ceremony and/or reception music. This questionnaire(s) help us both in determining the overall "feel" of both the ceremony and/or reception, and allow for a full custom-tailored affair! You send me completed copies, then we schedule a meeting time.
We then meet to discuss and begin our "tweaking" process. We can meet one additional time before the wedding date to finalize everything as well.
I take the information from our meeting(s) and the information from the questionnaire(s) and produce a timeline for you to share with all vendors - this keeps everyone "on the same page." Email or call for samples of the questionnaires and timelines.
The DJ or DJ Combination package allows for up to two personal meetings, as well as unlimited emails and phone calls to plan your ceremony and/or reception. Additional personal meetings are charged $50.00/hour.
